I have been a practicing acupuncture physician for 10 years, and I purchased this app to serve as an anatomy refresher for myself. I was pleasantly surprised with the detailed information, clear pictures that illustrate the layering of the muscles, and the animated illustration of the muscle actions.
The majority of my practice is treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. I have found that patients are very receptive and appreciative to be able to have a visual of where their pain or injury is located, but most printed muscle charts are unclear and text books are clumsy. It is so convenient to bring my iPad into the treatment room and use this app to show the patient exactly where their health challenge is, anatomically speaking, and the sort of movements that may aggravate it.
Being a total anatomy nerd, I did notice one little mistake on the origin of the splenius cervicis muscle so I contacted the app developer about this. To my surprise, I received an expeditious response, and they have already submitted the correction of the error to Apple iTunes.
Not only is this app an excellent resource for both students and professionals, it is run by a company with responsible business practices. I am very impressed and highly recommend it!
